The first Phnom Penh WordPress meetup will be held Saturday January 15, 2011, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the new Hackerspace Phnom Penh building (map).
The meetup is open to everyone. It is free to attend.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Anyone who wants to learn more about the world’s leading content management system should attend.
THE PLAN
The goal is to build an ongoing community of WordPress users who can learn from each other. We will do this by holding online discussions and regular monthly meetups. The meetup in January is just the first of many to come.
At these meetups, new WordPress users will be able to interact with more experienced users, and experienced users will share their insights with new users. Through this interaction, everyone gains.
The current meetup agenda is below, although this is likely to change as more information becomes available.
Introduction
The meetup moderator will give a short introductory talk and allow attendees to introduce themselves, followed by a brief explanation of WordPress and its capabilities, strengths and weaknesses.
Presentations
The moderator and others will give brief, 3-5 minutes talks about a specific area or feature of WordPress, followed by a short question and answer session.
If you are an experienced WordPress user and you would like to give a talk, please email Robert, coder at k4media dot com. There are a limited number of slots for talks, so please rsvp as soon as possible.
Freetime
The last 15 minutes of the meeting will be open to free time. This will allow participants to interact with others in the group freely and discuss whatever topics are most appealing.
Refreshments will be served.
RSVP
If you think you are likely to attend, please RSVP
This will help organizers get an idea of how many people to prepare for.
